As an extension of a partnership agreement with the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Chuo University opened its first overseas hub, located in the East West Center on the premises of UHM, in December 2013. Through the opening of this Office, interaction between students and academic staff of the two universities has grown rapidly. There are plans underway for new courses and projects in Hawaii over the coming years.
Chuo openend its second overseas hub in Thailand in December 2014, the Chuo-Thammasat Exchange Center, located in Bangkok's Thammasat University. The Center will play a key role in Chuo's globalization initiatives across ASEAN, supporting student exchange, academic programs and research projects, building networks, and promoting communication activities internationally.
The Chuo University Shanghai Office is Chuo's third overseas hub opened in October 2016 at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). The Shanghai Office aims to play a significant role in gathering information on international exchange, preparing overseas study programs for students, providing research support for faculty members, and ensuring a base for networking and public relations activities. Above all, the new office will enable Chuo to implement higher education programs in close cooperation with USST.
