Program for Capacity Building in
Global Water-Environmental Engineering

Basic language

The basic language is Japanese in a major in civil and environmental engineering and global water environment course. Students with global water environment course will participate in internships in the Japanese governmental and public institutions or private companies. In addition, the idea that education in Japan’s excellent technology (including traditional technology) will lead to the contribution of recipients to society results in stronger emphasis on Japanese-taught classes in areas of high expertise. Meanwhile, the teaching of some subjects is conducted in English.

The master's thesis may be written in English. Proficiency in Japanese is, however, essential to better results of learning and research. We would recommend that applicants for participation in the Program should be exposed to Japanese as early as possible and study the language continuously after entrance.
