Program for Capacity Building in
Global Water-Environmental Engineering
Recently, I have been focusing on natural science topics, traditional areas within Coastal Engineering, such as the behavior of waves (wave groups and infragravity waves) and sand movements near the shoreline.
My policy in guiding students' research is "to leave it to their self-initiative as much as possible". However, I feel the necessity of training in basic academic skills (technical knowledge, logical thinking and proficiency in Japanese) also in the graduate school.
I would like students, when graduating, to have at least one thing in terms of research to be able to teach the teacher (me).
