Professor Motohiro Hashimoto (Dean, Faculty of Law) was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal regarding the results of the recent Upper House election.
Professor Hashimoto gave the following response: “In the system of the Upper House election, the rate of allocation for seats is high compared to voter turnout.
Accordingly, some people criticize the system by stating that public opinion isn’t accurately reflected. However, this system makes it easy to check the administration.”
