Alpine Club’s Rescue

Yasuhiro Ohori of the Alpine Club rescued a climber who had fallen near the 9th station on Mt Fuji on December 10, 2011, and was presented with a letter of appreciation from the Gotemba Police Department.

Mr. Ohori, rescued the climber, who had fallen near the 9th station, during the club’s winter Mt. Fuji camp. He carried the person down to the 7th station through harsh winds. Due to the strong winds, a helicopter could be dispatched only as far as the 7th station.
