Professor Wins Vietnamese Education Prize


Faculty of Economics Professor Toshio Ogata has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to educational operations in Vietnam, and was awarded the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training Service to Education Prize on November 2, 2011.

Professor Ogata’s major educational operations in Vietnam
・Concluded international exchange agreements with the National Economics University (Hanoi) and Hue University, and created environmental education programs and local training schemes based on joint research with the Vietnamese government’s Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE).
・Using the summer vacation, lead a joint seminar between the National Economics University and Japanese students on the theme of global environmental issues, and since 2005, he has conducted annual tree planting activities at the 15,000 tree Japan Friendship Forest.
