9.Forum on Science Research (reorganized)

Outline Periods
Forum which can be referred to as one of the most distinctive initiatives of the Institute of Social Sciences, was established earlier in the institution’s history with an aim to contribute to further progress and integration of social sciences, by inviting researchers in the fields of philosophy and natural sciences and providing open discussion settings to jointly address and thoroughly discuss basic and fundamental issues in social sciences.
Also, Forum is regarded as a place to discuss “social responsibilities of scientists”. We have been inviting external instructors and holding symposium-style discussions once every one or two years to address common issues social sciences are facing. It has been long since Forum was initially launched, and since then we have undergone several reorganizations. With various changes in the institution, discussions are currently underway regarding how Forum should be in the future.
