Unit for Study of Biodiversity

Outline

period

"Participation" and "science" are the vital elements for adequate managements in nature reserve areas including national parks toward biodiversity conservation. In this unit, we develop an information exchange system in Amami-oshima that produces biodiversity indicators through collaborations with scientists and citizens. The system will be a helpful model case for installation of cooperation managements and smooth consensus formations to carry out effective biodiversity conservation in nature reserve areas.
